Merrimac State School has a diverse staff who bring a range of talents, interests and expertise to the school. The school has a Leadership team comprising a Principal, two Deputy Principals and a Head of Inclusive Learning (HOIL). Curriculum support is provided by the Head of Curriculum and the Support Teacher - literacy and numeracy .
Specialist teachers include Japanese language teacher, health and physical education teacher, STEM teacher, Technology teacher, music teacher, Arts and Drama teacher and instrumental music teachers in strings, woodwind, percussion and brass.
The school has a visiting English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) teacher who is supported by teacher aides.
Student welfare is attended to by our Guidance Officer, School Chaplain, Inclusion teachers and the school's Wellbeing support group. Weekly support services meetings are held to review student needs. A range of specialist advisory visiting teachers are available to support students with speech, hearing, visual and physical impairments.
A range of specialised teacher aides provide targeted support for EAL/D literacy and numeracy, behaviour management and special needs students.
