Merrimac State School has a diverse staff who bring a range of talents, interests and expertise to the school. The school is capably lead by a Principal, three Deputy Principals and a Head of Special Education. Curriculum support is provided by the Head of Curriculum and the
Support Teacher - literacy and numeracy . The school has an Engagement Officer to support the Positive Learning Behaviour framework.
Specialist teachers include Japanese language teacher, health and physical education teacher, music teacher and instrumental music teachers in band, woodwind, percussion and brass.
The school has a visiting English as a Second Language (EAL/D) teacher who is supported by teacher aides.
Student welfare is attended to by our Guidance Officer, School Chaplain, Special Education teachers and the school's Wellbeing support group. Weekly support services meetings are held to review student needs. A range of specialist advisory visiting teachers are available to support students with speech, hearing, visual and physical impairments.
A teacher-librarian/resource centre coordinator provides library lessons, ICT lessons and integrational support for teachers and students.
A range of specialised teacher aides provide targeted support for EAL/D literacy and numeracy, behaviour management and special needs students.
