It is with much excitement that we again welcome Katsuragi Elementary School to Merrimac. The relationship between our two schools continues to grow stronger and stronger. As Katsuragi visits Merrimac, we start another cycle of exchange and this further cements our friendships and cultural understanding.

Our two schools first signed our Sister School Agreement in 2001 when Mr Kodama was Katsuragi’s Principal. A new Sister School Agreement was resigned in 2004 with Mr Tagami as Principal. In 2007, our Sister School Agreement was again renewed with Mr Nagashima as Principal of Katsuragi Elementary School.

Over the last six years, our school has visited Katsuragi three times and this is Katsuragi’s third visit to Merrimac. We are again happy to share with you our homes, our city and our friendship. We hope that all the Katsuragi IEC members, teachers and students have a wonderful time.

We have a busy and exciting schedule of activities planned and I’m sure that your visit will be both enjoyable and rewarding. It will provide the opportunity to renew friendships and to also make new friends.
