School Sport

Merrmac State School values student participation in school sport. School sport is seen as a means of encouraging physical activity and general well being. Merrimac acknowledges that different students are motivated in different ways, hence providing genuine opportunities for participation and/or competitive involvement. During the year students have the opportunity to participate in:

Outdoor Pursuits:

Bowling, snooker, beach games, mixed games, yoga, mini tramp, basketball and putt putt

Interschool Sport:

Cricket, basketball, touch football, rugby league, Aussie Rules, softball, soccer and netball

Coaching Clincs:

Visiting sport development officers providing coaching in areas such as hockey, softball, Auskick and rugby league

Swimming Carnival:

Annual swimming carnival providing opportunities for participation and trials for representative swimming.

Cross Country:

Annual cross country carnival providing opportunities for participation and trials for representative cross country events

Athletics Carnival:

Annual athletics carnival providing opportunities for participation and trials for representative athletics
