Thankyou for taking the time to visit the Merrimac State School website. Our school is renowned on the Gold Coast for its outstanding natural setting, characterised by an array of wildlife and bushland. In recent years Merrimac has embarked on a major upgrade of information communication technology and as a result the school is fully networked, with state of the art computers, local area network and video conferencing facilities.

Merrimac provides a balanced curriculum program with major activities in physical education and sport, enrichment for more able learners, support services for students with learning difficulties and learning disabilities, early literacy strategies, a whole school reading program, environmental education and a range of choral and instrumental programs.

Merrimac's behaviour management program operates on a level system with students being placed on levels according to their behaviour. An extensive rewards and acknowledgement system is also in place to recognise positive behaviours.
