Breakfast was served at 7.30 a.m. in Sinbad's Restaurant. The students had their bags in the lobby at 9.00 a.m. ready to be loaded on the truck. The bus arrived at 9.20 a.m. and departed for Dreamworld at 9.30 a.m.

Merrimac buddies met at the entrance to Dreamworld and then teamed up with their buddies. The students explored Dreamworld in groups (minimum of 4 students) and met back for lunch in Billabongs at 12.30 p.m. During the afternoon the students freely explored Dreamworld having fun on rides, attending shows and visiting the wildlife. A highlight was the tiger cubs.

After a long and tiring day the students met at the entrance and boarded the coaches for the 30 minute journey to Merrimac State School arriving at 5.15 p.m. After a short orientation the studentc collected their bags and headed home to their various home stays. Tonight will be very different as they begin to learn about Australian family life, Australian food and Australian customs.

Tomorrow students will meet in their host room before having a school tour and enjoying billy tea and damper. At 11.00 a.m. Merrimac will officially welcome Katsuragi students at special ceremony. After lunch students will participate in a Mini Olympics before heading home for their second night of home stay. No doubt after a long journey and two busy days everyone will be ready for a long sleep.
