JQ 18 touched down at 8.08 a.m.to be greeted by a glorious Australian winter. The sun was shining and the welcome committee eagerly awaited the students to enter the arrivals lounge. At 8.45 a.m. the first of the weary travelers appeared with beaming smiles.

The coach was soon loaded an on its way to Broadbeach arriving at 10.45 a.m. The students enjoyed a cake and drink before being welcomed by Mr Jenks and the Merrimac students.

After the official welcome the students headed to the beach to be greeted by huge waves, blue sky and gleaming white sand. After some fun games on the beach it was time for a sausage and drink before heading to the Paradise Hotel.

This afternoon the students rested in preparation for dinner at 6.00 p.m. and early to bed.

The exchange is now off to flying start …
